Release of cord blood stem cells for use

Release of your child’s cryopreserved cord blood for use is simple and straight forward. In the event that the cord blood is needed for treatment, you or the treating doctor, just need to contact the Quality Manager at Cryosite and they organise the rest.

The parent or legal guardian (or the patient themselves if the cord blood unit has been stored for more than 18 years) gives written direction to Cryosite, including the name and address of the medical practitioner and transplant center which will be receiving the cord blood.

Cryosite have validated transport systems that ensure cryopreserved cord blood can be safely transported to any transplant centre in the world. Cryosite will not charge you to prepare and retrieve your baby’s cord blood stem cells. However, you will need to pay any costs associated with shipping the blood to the transplant centre.
